Help my heart be broken to the things that God’s heart is broken about.
Storms make a strong tree,
sufferings make a strong saint.
Hopelessness went out with the resurrection
2 Cor. 4: 16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our
outer man is decaying, yet our inner manis being renewed day by day. 17 For
momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory
far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are
seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen
are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Cor. 5:1-7 1 For we know that if the earthly tent which is
our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with
hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For indeed in this house we groan, longing
to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven, 3 inasmuch as we, having put
it on, will not be found naked. 4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we
groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be
clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who
prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a
pledge. 6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while
we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 for we walk by
faith, not by sight.
Psa. 68:19-20 19 Blessed be the Lord,
who daily bears our burden, The God who is our salvation. 20 God is to us a
God of deliverances; and to God the Lord belong escapes from death.
Pro. 17:14 The
spirit of a man can endure his sickness, but as for a broken spirit who can
bear it?
Romans 8:18 For
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be
compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Ps. 34:15,17-19 15 The eyes of the
Lord are toward the righteous
and His ears are open to their cry. 17 The righteous cry, and the
Lord hears and delivers them
out of all their troubles. 18 The
Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in
spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the
Lord delivers him out of them
all.
Rev. 21:3-4 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne,
saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among
them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, 4
and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer
be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the
first things have passed away.
Pro. 14: 13 Even in laughter the heart may be in pain, and the
end of joy may be grief.
Eccles 7:1,3, 1
A good name is better than a good ointment, and the day of one’s
death is better than the day of one’s birth. 3 Sorrow is better than
laughter, for when a face is sad a heart may be happy.
John 14:1-3 1 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in
God, believe also in Me. 2 “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places;
if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for
you. 3 “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and
receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
Phil. 3:20-21 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which
also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 21 who will
transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His
glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things
to Himself.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4, 11 1 There is an appointed time for
everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven 2 A time to
give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot what is
planted. 3 A time to kill and a time to heal; a time to tear down and a time
to build up. 4 A time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a
time to dance. 11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has
also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work
which God has done from the beginning even to the end.
I Thessalonians 4: 13-18 13
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who
are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no
hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will
bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to
you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the
coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For
the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of
the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise
first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with
them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be
with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Ps. 147:1,3,4,5, 1 Praise the
Lord! For it is good to sing
praises to our God…3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 4
He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. 5 Great is
our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.
Psalm 147: 6 The Lord
supports the afflicted; He brings down the wicked to the ground. 11 The
Lord favors those who fear
Him, Those who wait for His lovingkindness.
Ps. 30:4-5 4 Sing praise to the
Lord, you His godly ones, and
give thanks to His holy name. 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor
is for a lifetime; weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes
in the morning.
