The enemy
Don’t let the devil discourage you by your
past, when he l brings up your past, then bring up his future.
Love/Forgiveness/ Criticism/Sovereignty
Col. 3:12-15 12 So, as
those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13 bearing with one
another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone;
just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14 Beyond all these things
put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ
rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be
thankful.
Security/Confidence/Our strength
Ps. 71:1-6 1 In You, O
Lord, I have taken refuge; Let
me never be ashamed. 2 In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; for
You are my rock and my fortress. 4 Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of
the wicked, out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man, 5 for You
are my hope; O Lord God, You
are my confidence from my youth. 6 By You I have been sustained from my
birth; You are He who took me from my mother’s womb; My praise is
continually of You. Incline Your ear to me and save me.
Heaven/Sovereignty
Romans 14:11 For it is
written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every
tongue shall give praise to God.”
Forgiveness
Matthew 18:21-22 21
Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin
against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I
do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
The enemy
Zachariah 3:1-2
1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the
Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. 2 The Lord said to
Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the Lord who has chosen
Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”
Comfort/Security
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I
give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
Our works/Temptation
Matthew 15:11 “It is not
what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of
the mouth, this defiles the man.”
