Perspective/Wisdom

My goal is to please God and serve Him daily, not to seek joy, pleasure, peace, or satisfaction.  If these come by pleasing and serving Him then so be it, if not,  then so be it. (Kent) 

Wisdom/Temptation

I Cor. 6:12-13  12 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything. 13 Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both of them. Yet the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.

Wisdom/Faith/Commitment

Matt. 16:24-26  24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.  25  “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26  “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Prayer/Sovereignty/ Our works

John 15:16 “You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

Our strength/Worry

Exodus 14:13-14   13 But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.      14  “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.” 15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.

Faith

Matt 21: 21-22  21 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen. 22 “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
