Our works
Between the great things we cannot, or
perhaps will never do , and the small things we refuse to do, effects a life
of doing nothing for others or God. So do the small things, and forget
the great things.
Forgiveness/Confession
Psa. 32:1-5 1 How
blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered! 2 How
blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose
spirit there is no deceit! 3 When I kept silent about my sin, my body
wasted away through my groaning all day long. 4 For day and night Your hand
was heavy upon me; my vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of
summer. 5 I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide; I
said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”.
Unity/Encouragement/Humility
Phil. 2:1- 4 1
Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any
consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any
affection and compassion, 2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind,
maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 3 Do
nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard
one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for
your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
Perspective/Reward
Matt. 19:29-30 29 “And
everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or
children or farms for My name’s sake, will receive many times as much, and
will inherit eternal life. 30 “But many who are first will be last; and the
last, first.
Humility/Love
Matt. 20:26-28 26 “It is
not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall
be your servant, 27 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your
slave; 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Perspective/End
times
I John 3:22
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we
will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will
see Him just as He is.
Faith/Commitment
Romans 14:8 For if we
live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore
whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
