Sovereignty

Is. 40:21-24    21 Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.  23 It is He who reduces rulers to nothing, Who makes the judges of the earth meaningless. 24 Scarcely have they been planted, scarcely have they been sown, scarcely has their stock taken root in the earth, but He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the storm carries them away like stubble.

Our strength/Loss

Ps. 147:1,3,4,5, 1 Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God…3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 4 He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. 5 Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.

Forgiveness/Unity/Criticism

I Peter 3:8-9  8 To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit;  9 not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.

Anger

James 1:19-20   19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;  20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.

Walking in the Spirit/Sovereignty

I Thess. 5:16-19   16 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the Spirit.

Our strength/Waiting on the Lord

Ps. 27:1,14   1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread? 14 Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.
