Discipleship
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day,
teach him how to fish and he will eat for a lifetime. Give a man the Word
and he will be encouraged for a day, teach a man how to study the Word and
he will be encouraged for a life time.
The Enemy
Isaiah 14:12-17 (Satan’s
form when it is all over?) 12 “How you have fallen from heaven, O star of
the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who
have weakened the nations! 13 “But you said in your heart, ‘I
will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, and I
will sit on the mount of assembly in the recesses of the north. 14 ‘I will
ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most
High.’ 15 “Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, to the recesses
of the pit. 16 “Those who see you will gaze at you, they will ponder over
you, saying, ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook
kingdoms, 17 who made the world like a wilderness and overthrew its cities,
who did not allow his prisoners to go home?
The Law
Hebrews 10:1,4 1 For the
Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very
form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer
continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. 4 For it is
impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
Security/Our strength
Is. 12:2 “Behold, God
is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the
Lord
God is my strength and song,
and He has become my salvation.
Wisdom/Our works
Pro 21: 22
A wise man scales the city of the mighty and brings down the
stronghold
in which they trust.
Character
Pro 22:1
A good name is to be more desired than
great wealth, favor is better than silver and gold
Perspective
Col. 3:1-3 1 Therefore
if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where
Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things
above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died and your
life is hidden with Christ in God.
Knowledge
Pro. 27: 17
Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Yet his foolishness will
not depart from him.
