Perspective
The tendency is to do
the urgent and not the important. What do you think God wants you to
do? How long did He wait to send His Son to save mankind?
God’s faithfulness/Prayer/Hope/Perseverence
Psalm 37: 3-7;23-25 3
Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your
heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it.
6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light and your judgment as
the noonday. 7 Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; 23 The steps of
a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way. 24 When he
falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the Lord is the One who holds
his hand. 25 I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the
righteous forsaken.
Sovereignty
Romans 9:20-22 20 On
the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded
will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it? 21 Or
does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump
one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? 22 What if God,
although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known,
endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction.
Anger
Pro 14:29-30 29 He who
is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who is quick-tempered
exalts folly. 30 A tranquil heart is life to the body, but passion is
rottenness to the bones.
Wisdom/Love
I Tim. 1:5
But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good
conscience and a sincere faith.
Victory/Trials/Perseverance
Romans 5:3-5 3 And not
only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation
brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven
character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has
been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to
us.
Prayer
Eccles 5:2-3 2 Do not be
hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence
of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your
words be few. 3 For the dream comes through much effort and the voice of a
fool through many words.
