Perseverance
The race does not always belong to the
swift, but to those who keep running.
Worry/The Enemy
I Peter 5:6-8,10 6
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt
you at the proper time, 7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares
for you. 8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil,
prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 10 After you
have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to
His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and
establish you.
Love/Criticism
Gal. 5:13-16 13 For you
were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an
opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For the
whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your
neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite and devour one another, take care
that you are not consumed by one another. 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit,
and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
Wisdom
Pro. 14:15 The naive
believes everything, but the sensible man considers his steps.
Prayer
I Thessalonians 5: 16-19 16
Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for
this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the Spirit;
Winning others
Colossians 4: 5-6 5
Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the
opportunity. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with
salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
Wisdom/The Enemy
Pro. 14: 16 A wise man is
cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is arrogant and careless.
Faith/Our works
Gal. 1:10
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please
men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of
Christ.
New life/Forgiveness
2 Cor. 5: 17 Therefore if
anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away;
behold, new things have come.
