Prayer
God may deny our
requests, but will never disappoint our trust.
Security/Sovereignty/Prayer
Romans 8:26-31 26 In the
same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray
as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too
deep for words; 27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the
Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of
God. 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to
those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to
the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many
brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom
He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also
glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who
is against us?
Our strength/Faithfulness
Psalm 89:6,8,9 6 For who in
the skies is comparable to the Lord? Who among the sons of the mighty is
like the Lord, 8 O Lord God of hosts, who is like You, O mighty Lord?
Your faithfulness also surrounds You 9 You rule the swelling of the sea;
When its waves rise, You still them.
The enemy/ Our strength/Faithfulness
2 Thess. 3: 3 But the Lord
is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
The enemy
I Peter 5: 8 Be of sober
spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a
roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Our strength
I John 4:4 You are from God,
little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you
than he who is in the world.
Love
John 13: 34-35 34 “A new
commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved
you, that you also love one another. 35 “By this all men will know that
you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Our works
I John 3:18
Little children, let us not love
with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
