God makes sure
Over a year ago, Myrna and I climbed a steep hill above Megiddo, a little city in Israel where according to the book of Revelation the last battle in this world will take place before Christ returns. As we climbed this hill, it was critical for us to have water, for the hill was steep, and the weather was unbearably hot. And we did have water, not only the water we took, but water fountains all along the way to drink from. While making this difficult trek, it brought to mind that there are also steep hills in this life that are hard to get up and over. These hills are often unforeseen circumstances that slow us down, run us into the ground, and even bury us at times. But like the water that helped Myrna and me on our climb, so it is with God who provides His own water of truth, encouragement, hope, and answered prayer. And should we let Him; the Lord will even walk with us to the top. Like Emily the guide who walked with Myrna and me to the top of Megiddo. We made it, and so will you, God and His water will make sure of that.
Comforting others
God comforts us not to make ourselves comfortable, but to teach us how to be comforters of others. Think of how you might be a comfort to someone this week. It will bless you beyond measure, but more so it will bless them.
Waiting
Waiting in the sunshine of God’s love is what will ripen you for a blessing beyond compare. (K)
